Silicone rubber for High Transparency Mould and Its Application

II. Chemical Principles of Silica Gel for High Transparency Dies

IV. Characteristic of Silica Gel for Condensation Mould

VI. Characteristic of Silicone rubber for Addition Mold
Addition mold silica gel can be used for a long time in the temperature range of - 65 C - 350 C, and keep its soft and elastic properties. It has excellent electrical and chemical stability, water resistance, ozone resistance, climate aging resistance, non-corrosive, physiological inertia, non-toxic and odorless, low linear shrinkage, high transparency, good demoulding and easy operation.
VII. Application of Silicone rubber in Addition Mold
(1) Mixing
Component A (base glue) and component B (curing agent) are mixed at a weight ratio of 10:1. The mixing can be done manually or with equipment.
(2) Defoaming
The mixed compound should be defoamed before filling. When used in a small amount, it can be carried out in a vacuum dryer. Under vacuum, the volume of rubber will foam, which can increase by 4-5 times. Therefore, the volume of vessel for defoaming should be 4-5 times larger than that of rubber. After a few minutes, the colloid area will return to normal. When there is no bubble escaping from the surface (about 10 minutes), the defoaming process will be completed.
(3) Surface treatment
Liquid paraffin can be used as demoulding agent on the surface of mould or material to be poured.
(4) vulcanization and demoulding
After defoaming, the compound is cured at 120 (+5 (?) for 30 minutes, at 60-70 (?) for 2-3 hours, and at room temperature for 24 hours. The curing temperature and time can be determined according to the technological conditions.
VIII. Storage and Notice of Silicone rubber for Addition Mold
1. Products are non-dangerous goods, sealed storage, placed in a cool place, to prevent rain, sunlight exposure, storage period of half a year.
2. In the use of products, it should be forbidden to mix with the compounds of condensed silicone rubber, sulfur, phosphorus and nitrogen, otherwise, the vulcanization of rubber will be affected. If the original used condensation mold, must be cleaned with gasoline, otherwise, the surface of the mold can not be vulcanized or sticky.
