Phenyl silicone rubber is a type of high-temperature-resistant silicone rubber composed of monomers such as styrene and dimethylsilane. This material possesses a variety of superior physical and chemical properties, making it an ideal choice for various industrial fields.

The density of phenyl silicone rubber typically ranges from 1.1 to 1.3 g/cm³, with a hardness range of 30 to 80 Shore A. Its tensile strength is between 5 and 12 MPa, and the elongation at break can reach 150% to 500%. Additionally, the compression set ranges from 30% to 60%, and the electrical insulation strength is between 20 and 40 kV/mm. These parameters collectively ensure the stability and reliability of phenyl silicone rubber in various harsh environments.

The high-temperature resistance of phenyl silicone rubber is particularly prominent, thanks to the presence of siloxane groups. Siloxane groups exhibit high chemical inertness and thermal stability, maintaining good elasticity and physical properties even at high temperatures. Therefore, phenyl silicone rubber is widely used in automotive manufacturing, aerospace, electronics and electrical appliances, and medical devices.

However, the weatherability of phenyl silicone rubber is relatively poor, mainly due to the double bonds in the phenyl groups being susceptible to oxidation reactions caused by ultraviolet radiation. Furthermore, the presence of siloxane groups also leads to a decrease in the wear resistance of phenyl silicone rubber. Nevertheless, through reasonable formulation design and processing techniques, the excellent properties of phenyl silicone rubber can be maximized to meet various industrial needs.
