Phenyl Silicone Rubber: A Material of Exceptional Heat and Cold Resistance

Hits: 696 img

Phenyl silicone rubber, composed of monomers such as styrene and dimethylsilane, stands out as a high-temperature-resistant silicone rubber. Its superior heat resistance stems from the high chemical inertness and thermal stability of siloxane groups, enabling it to maintain excellent elasticity and physical properties even under extreme temperatures. Its density ranges from 1.1 to 1.3 g/cm³, with Shore A hardness between 30 and 80, tensile strength up to 5-12 MPa, elongation at break reaching 150%-500%, compression set varying from 30% to 60%, and electrical insulation strength of 20-40 kV/mm.

Phenyl silicone rubber finds extensive applications in industries including automotive manufacturing, aerospace, electronics, and medical devices. In the automotive sector, it is commonly used for seals, rubber tubes, and rubber parts. In aerospace, its high and low-temperature resistance makes it ideal for high-temperature seals and hydraulic seals. In electronics, it is utilized in high-temperature cables, cable protection tubes, and electrical insulation components.
