A brief explanation of our daily use of silicone oil

Hits: 487 img

Hair is produced from hair follicles in the scalp, and the main component is keratin. Enlarge the hair, and the uneven fur scales on top are clearly visible, like fish scales. Washing hair is to remove dust and excess oil from the hair and scalp, but water and anionic surfactants used for cleaning can cause a series of changes in the hair: hair absorbs water, expands, becomes soft when wet, and the lubricating and protective oils from silicone oil are washed away. If there are damaged and raised hair scales, it will increase the friction between the hair, causing the hair to tangle together during combing, and the mutual friction will exacerbate the damage to the hair scales. After removing oil, anionic surfactants simply adsorb onto the hair. Wet and negatively charged hair can at least stick together under the action of water, and once they dry, they will completely turn their faces, because same-sex repulsion and mutual distance are inseparable.

The static electricity problem caused by anionic surfactants is easy to solve. Let's add some cationic ones to hair conditioners, such as quaternary ammonium salts. But this still cannot solve a series of hair quality problems led by hair scale damage. This is not something that can be avoided without combing your hair - besides combing, the chemical reagents, heat, and UV rays in the sun during dyeing and perming can also cause severe damage to your hair. Oil comes in handy: lubrication to reduce the likelihood of hair damage during combing. The function of silicone oil is to adhere to hair strands, fill damaged areas of hair scales, and make the surface of hair smoother, which is often referred to as the "repair" function in advertisements. Repaired hair is shiny and easy to comb, making it stronger and more resilient.
