The predecessor of Mathematics Department of School of science of Northeast Forestry University is mathematics major of basic Department of Northeast Forestry University founded in 1980. In recent decades, with the continuous development of mathematics discipline construction, the overall strength of the teaching staff has been continuously enhanced, and the characteristics have been formed in teaching, scientific research, personnel training and other aspects. The research work in several fields has reached the advanced level in China.
At present, the Department of mathematics has two undergraduate majors, mathematics and applied mathematics, information and computing science, and a master's degree in mathematics. The Department of mathematics has 5 teaching and research departments, including basic mathematics, computational mathematics, probability theory and statistics, applied mathematics and higher mathematics, and 1 mathematics laboratory. There are more than 300 undergraduates and 40 postgraduates in the Department of mathematics. Mathematics teachers have first-class teaching level, and have won many awards for excellent teaching achievements and teaching quality.
Most of the teachers graduated from the famous domestic universities. Mathematics teachers have a wide range of scientific research fields, and have rich research achievements in basic mathematical theory research (ordinary differential equation, optimization theory, matrix theory) and applied research (probability theory, mathematical statistics, and Biomathematics). They have published more than 100 high-level scientific research papers in core journals at home and abroad, dozens of SCI papers, and presided over various kinds of NSFC Dozens of scientific research projects have been awarded.

Research background and academic level: have a stable scientific research direction, obtain important academic contributions, theoretical level and academic influence recognized by domestic peers, and have the potential to obtain national talent projects (honorary titles).

Treatment for introducing talents
