Brief introduction of Nanjing Forestry University
Nanjing Forestry University is located at the foot of Zijin Mountain with beautiful scenery and beside the Xuanwu Lake with rippling green waves. It is a provincial key university jointly built by the central and local governments. It was selected into the list of national "double first-class" construction universities in 2017. Formerly known as the Department of forestry of Central University (founded in 1902) and the Department of forestry of Jinling University (founded in 1910), Nanjing Forestry College, which was jointly established in 1952, was one of the only three higher forestry institutions in China at that time. In 1955, the Department of forestry of Huazhong Agricultural College (Wuhan University, Nanchang University and Hubei Agricultural College) was incorporated into the University. In 1972, it was renamed Nanjing Institute of forest industry. In 1983, the name of Nanjing Institute of forestry was restored. In 1985, it was renamed Nanjing Forestry University.
Nanjing Forestry University is one of the first batch of universities in China with the overall granting right of doctor's degree and master's degree. The school has a high-quality teaching staff, with more than 2210 staff, including 1450 full-time teachers, 181 doctoral supervisors and 796 senior professional titles. At present, the school has more than 20 national level talents represented by academicians of Chinese Academy of engineering, more than 110 experts enjoying special government allowance of the State Council; 4 chief scientists at the first level of "333 project" in Jiangsu Province, 3 provincial famous teachers, 25 special professors in Jiangsu Province, 16 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions at the provincial and ministerial levels, 2 and 3 levels of "333 project" in Jiangsu Province, and "mass entrepreneurship and innovation plan"“ There are more than 360 provincial talent plans such as blue sky project and six peaks, and 13 provincial innovation teams such as Jiangsu Science and technology innovation team and blue sky project.

Brief introduction of the school of furniture and industrial design
Nanjing Forestry University School of home furnishing and industrial design (formerly: School of furniture and industrial design) was founded in September 2008. Now, it has five departments and an experimental center of furniture design, furniture and wood products engineering, industrial design, design technology, information and interaction technology. At present, there are 58 faculty members, including 9 professors (6 doctoral supervisors), 16 associate professors, 34 teachers with doctoral degree, 11 teachers with master's degree, and 10 teachers who are studying for doctoral degree, and 27 teachers are studying in Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy and other countries.
The college has three majors and directions of industrial design, industrial design (furniture design) and product design (Art), with nearly 800 undergraduate students and more than 220 graduate and international students.
The college has 2 doctoral programs in "furniture design and Engineering" (subordinate to national first-class discipline "forestry engineering"), 2 master programs in "wood science and Technology (furniture and wood product technology)", 2 master programs in "Design Science (industrial product design and theory)", and 2 programs in "Industrial Design Engineering" and "forestry engineering (furniture design and manufacturing)" Master Cheng. The doctoral program of "furniture design and Engineering" is the earliest doctoral program of furniture and interior design set up in domestic universities. Since 2004, it has officially started to recruit master's and doctoral students.
Introduction to art and Design Institute
The art design discipline of Nanjing Forestry University was founded in 1995, which is the pioneer of art design education in forestry universities in China. In 2008, the school integrated related art discipline resources and established the school of art and design. The comprehensive strength of the college is among the top agricultural and forestry colleges in China and similar colleges in Jiangsu Province, and its enrollment scope covers more than ten provinces and municipalities directly under the central government. It has the right to grant master of design, master of Art (MFA) and master of engineering, and recruits undergraduate and graduate students of design discipline from overseas.
The college has 6 departments of landscape art design, ecological landscape design, interior art design, visual communication design, public art, digital media art and corresponding undergraduate professional and discipline research directions. It has 4 research institutes of environmental art design, landscape design, interior design, media art design, art and design theory, international design education research 2 Three centers, one provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, five graduate studios and one international design workshop. There are more than 2200 undergraduates and 280 postgraduates.
At present, the college has 81 faculty members, including 30 professors and associate professors, 29 doctors, postdoctors and overseas returnees, 2 young and middle-aged leading talents in the second level of 333 high-level talent training project in Jiangsu Province, 1 outstanding teaching team of Jiangsu blue project, 1 academic leader and 2 outstanding young backbone teachers. More than 40 well-known domestic and foreign scholars, industry technology and management experts, entrepreneurs, etc. were employed as special guest professors and part-time professors, including 3 industrial professors in Jiangsu Province and more than 30 off campus tutors for postgraduates.
Over the years, students have achieved excellent results in various design competitions and excellent thesis appraisals at home and abroad. In the past five years, it has won 2 first prizes of provincial excellent graduation design, 3 special prizes of national college students' English competition, 1 second prize of national college students' entrepreneurship competition, and more than 200 provincial and ministerial level and above disciplines competition awards every year. Since the establishment of the design major, the college has trained nearly 10000 design talents of all kinds. The graduates are mainly distributed in colleges, enterprises, government departments, design institutes and other units, involving fields such as education, scientific research, garden, environmental protection, architecture, decoration, new media and so on, which are widely praised.
At present, relying on the professional background of such advantageous disciplines as macroforestry, macroenvironment and macroecology of Nanjing Forestry University, and based on the materials of forestry, ecology and environmental protection, the college will develop into a well-known and internationally influential art and Design College of forestry with distinct characteristics.
