"Watch the neighborhood" community service project is set up by the front-line command of community epidemic prevention and control of Beijing Forestry University to actively implement the requirements of the Party committee of the University in adhering to the people-centered work in epidemic prevention and control. The project organizes the "double check-in" party members of the community to send "micro service" to the door, so that the poor people can also receive comprehensive care during the epidemic period, so as to avoid them becoming "isolated island" in the community.
Zhao Yumei, 81, a retired teacher, lives alone in Lin Daxi's family area. Mr. Zhao, who has just undergone surgery, is still recovering. Before the outbreak, the nanny will take care of her food, food and daily life. After the outbreak, the nanny will not be able to return to Beijing because she does not have the conditions for home isolation. Small things like firewood, rice, oil and salt have become "big problems". Every time she bought vegetables, Miss Zhao was worried about how to carry them back to her home on the fourth floor. Unable to carry heavy things, she could only throw the plastic bag containing vegetables up several steps, and then slowly walk up to pick them up, so repeatedly. Zhao's son's two cameras installed in his mother's home failed. During the outbreak, maintenance personnel couldn't come to his home, which made him anxious to pay real-time attention to his mother's living conditions and personal safety across the ocean.
After learning about Mr. Zhao's situation, the party members and enthusiastic residents of "double check-in" took action: Fang Jian of the school of materials, Wang Huaihuan of the affiliated small school of Beilin and the sinking cadres of the community came together to understand the specific needs; Zhang Xin of the human resources department, Wang dengzhi of the school of Lin, Chen Xinmei, the family member of Li Rui of the library, actively contracted the work of "accompanying the purchase and delivery to the door"; Meng Wei of the school of information and economic management Qin Guangyuan of the University of science came to the door to help debug the camera. After more than two hours, he finally solved the technical problem.
Ruan Ning said in his thank-you letter, "the warm-hearted mutual assistance and sincere neighborhood care that we met by chance deliver the upward force of humanistic care and improve the happiness index of community residents.". It is reported that the community epidemic prevention and control front-line headquarters of Beijing Forestry University attaches great importance to giving full play to the pioneering and exemplary role of Party members in their work. In addition to the establishment of the "watch the neighborhood" service project, the community activity of "guarding the home" with the main goal of improving the community environment is also in full swing. Up to now, nearly 300 volunteers have participated in the community inspection, and nearly 40 volunteers have participated in the community "clean day" activities. Zhao Cong, a sinking cadre in the Linda community and a contact person for the "watch the neighborhood" activity, probably didn't expect that this small move had achieved the great event that my mother and I had been expecting for several months.
Considering that she can't take a close look at her mother living alone in a foreign country, and her age, she went back to China last year to install a camera in her room, so as to prevent the elderly from being inconvenient to move or falling down and respond in time. But this small attempt to provide for the aged intelligently, because of the network change, did not work. Although many attempts have been made to have the repair carried out by others, due to the epidemic situation, it has been postponed, which makes people more anxious.
That day, my mother told me excitedly that the volunteer of "double check-in" party members in Linda community would come to help her. I also thought this was too complicated and might cause too much trouble to others. Unexpectedly, at 12 o'clock that day, two teachers, Qin Guangyuan and Meng Wei, from the school of economics and management and the school of information technology of the "watch the neighborhood" volunteer came home and began to think about it. This is a complex subject involving network technology, APP application and intelligent home equipment. After more than two hours of painstaking and repeated attempts, they finally connected successfully, which is really admirable! I feel the spirit of volunteers' persistent exploration and full of positive energy! The mother happily and excitedly holds the volunteer teacher's hand, reluctantly. Volunteers captured this moment, leaving precious memories. As an empty nest old man, the interaction between mother and "watching the neighborhood" volunteers directly contributes to the happiness and physical and mental health of these old people.
In the phone calls of the next few days, my mother mentioned again and again the "double check-in" party members and volunteers in Linda community, and expressed her gratitude: "two teachers, Fang Jian from the school of materials and Wang Huaihuan from the Affiliated School of Beilin, came to my door to understand the needs of my life during the period of epidemic prevention and control, and delivered warm community care; Qin Guangyuan from the school of economics and management, Zhang Xin from the personnel department, Wang dengzhi from the school of Lin, and the infrastructure department Chen Xinmei, a family member of Siqi and Li Rui of the library, took pains to accompany me to buy vegetables and solved the practical difficulties in life.
