At sunrise, the campus of Beijing Forestry University is very quiet. The instructor of the national flag guard, maitanizi mamuti, came to the playground carrying the national flag alone. With the light of the rising sun, he walked up the flag platform, grabbed the flag with his left hand, grabbed the folded flag angle with his right hand and straightened it to his chest. Then he took a big step forward with his right foot. He swung the flag forcefully and forcefully at a 45 degree angle right in front of him. After that, he kept a stagnant movement for a second, and then he pulled the rope with his hands alternately to slowly raise the flag to the top of the pole. Although there is no audience, his movements are still standard and complete in one go. He has been on his own for 43 days.
February 17 is the opening day of this semester in the 2020 school calendar of Beijing Forestry University. According to the original plan, in the early morning of this day, the national flag convoy will ceremoniously hold a flag raising ceremony jointly completed by 36 members under the gaze of thousands of teachers and students, which should have been a highlight time for the national flag convoy. But because of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, Mamti is the only person on the big playground.
As if there was only one person and a flag in the sky, said mcmarty, who was both lonely and proud.
I'm a flag bearer
Maimaiti's home is in Xinjiang, because the school is far away from home, and there are more round-trip fees. During the winter vacation, he decided to stay in school, review professional courses, supplement his professional knowledge and take a part-time job to relieve the family's economic pressure.
A sudden outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia broke Mamti's plan. At the same time, in accordance with the provisions of the law of the people's Republic of China on the national flag, our school should raise and lower the flag on time every working day during the school year. Because of the epidemic prevention and control, other team members could not return to school and stick to their posts.
As the only member of the national flag guard team who stayed at school, Mai Mai Ti took on the daily flag raising and lowering task of the school from February 17. He followed the sunrise every day to raise the flag before 8 o'clock in the morning and to lower it at sunset in the evening.
He had two bad weather during his daily flag raising and lowering. On March 6, when the flag was lowered, it began to rain. In order to prevent the flag from getting wet, he played an umbrella to the flag, and his lower body was soaked by the rain. Another time, on March 18, when Mai Mai Ti was having an online class, there was a strong wind outside. He was afraid that the national flag would be damaged by the wind, so he hurried to find a classmate to run to the playground in the wind, and lowered the national flag safely. "Fortunately, with the help of my classmates, it would be difficult for me to lower the national flag alone in the gale of level 10." "It's a day when I think about it," he said.
Not only did the students help him, but the security guard at the gate of the playground went to work at 8:30 a.m. to open the gate of the playground. When he learned that Mai Mai Ti would come to raise the national flag before 8:00 a.m. every day, he applied to the superior leaders to open the door half an hour earlier every day to ensure that Mai Ti would finish the task of raising the flag on time, which moved Mai Ti very much and strengthened his determination to protect the flag.
He said, "I am a flag bearer. Now is a special period of the epidemic. I should adhere to the glorious task given to me by the school.". On the other hand, as the instructor of the national flag guard team, I should better perform my duties, lead the team and set an example.
I'm the instructor
Mai Mai ti is the third generation national flag guard in Beilin. According to the teacher in charge, the student affairs department (Department) and the Armed Forces Department of our university established the third generation of Beilin national flag guard team under the guidance of retired college students on December 11, 2018. At present, there are 14 retired college students and 36 ordinary students in the team.
As a instructor, Mai Mai ti is responsible for organizing, commanding and managing the operation and daily work of our school's national flag guard team. He mainly plays the role of the link between the instructor and the team members, is responsible for the ideological education of the team members, the communication and arrangement of the tasks of the superior, the overall planning and coordination of the team construction, and actively maintains communication with the instructor; educates and leads the team members to implement the relevant rules, regulations and rules, strictly manage and abide by the rules and regulations; formulates the actual work rules of our school's national flag guard team And carry out relevant training and education for the team members.
During the period of epidemic prevention and control, he participated in the network publicity activities of epidemic knowledge and epidemic prevention measures carried out by the national flag guard team, and also led the team members to punch cards online.
Mai Mai ti is a Uygur nationality, and Mandarin is not standard, but as a instructor, expression is an essential skill in daily communication and meetings, so he always prepares detailed speeches, even a few minutes of short meeting. "He has a strong sense of responsibility and is a particularly competent instructor." The national flag guard was in charge of the teacher's evaluation of him.
I used to be an armed police soldier
Mai Mai Ti, a retired college student, is currently studying in class 17-3 of Forestry University. He joined the army in September 2016 and retired from school in September 2018.
During his service in the Chinese people's armed police force, he participated in security duty, stability maintenance, flood fighting and rescue work. Because of his outstanding performance and outstanding achievements, he has been rated as a learning model, duty model, excellent volunteer, etc. Before and during his military service, he had no special contact with the national flag, and had no training in raising and lowering the flag.
After retiring, he thanked the school, carried forward the fine spirit of the retired college students, and wanted to contribute to the national defense education and patriotism education of the school. In October 2018, he volunteered to join the national flag guard team of our school.
Now he is a junior, the curriculum is still relatively full, basically professional courses. Asked if there would be any conflict between the course arrangement and the task of raising and lowering the flag, he replied positively: "no, I raise the flag every morning before class, lower the flag first in the evening and then have dinner to prepare for the evening class, which will not affect the personal learning arrangement." When asking if he had any other difficulties, he just replied firmly with two words "no!".
From the back of these two words, it seems to have seen the deep imprint left on him in the two years when he was a member of the armed police.
He said that it is our duty and our honor to raise the bright five-star red flag every day at sunrise in the sky of Beilin, just like the slogan of our national flag guard team: "protect our national flag, love our Beilin, and raise our national prestige!"
