Classification and Standard of Silicone Rubber Printing Material
Silicone rubber belongs to polymer synthetic rubber and is an irreversible elastic impression material. In recent years, it has been widely used in medical field. As impression material, it mainly uses its good elasticity, toughness and strength. In addition. Silicone rubber impression also has the advantages of good fluidity, plasticity, small volume shrinkage, high precision, good chemical stability, no reaction with the model material, easy demoulding, and is an ideal type of impression material at present.
Scope of application:
Repair: such as porcelain bridge crown, partial denture, etc.
Orthodontics: lingual and transparent orthodontic model equipment, preparation of individual moulds, etc.
Classification:
1. Shrinkage clustering silicone rubber. The precision of silicone rubber impression material is the lowest.
2. Cluster Silicone Rubber. One of the most precise materials. It's very stable. It is one of the preferred impression materials. The price is higher.
3. Polyether rubber. It is one of the most precise materials with good liquidity and high price.
Qualified silicone rubber impression standard:
1. The final impression should cover the entire crown and gingival margin.
2. Complete dentition
3. The crown and gingival margin are clear and complete, without bubble cavity, defect and fold.
4. The anatomical structure of occlusal face, lip and cheek face and lingual side of teeth is clear.
5. No demoulding.
6. Final prints must adhere closely to the first prints.
7. If there is a third molar, the impression includes at least one-half of the tooth.
8. Even monomandibular treatment requires a full impression.
