Automotive ECU electronic control unit, also known as driving computer, is a special computer controller for automobiles. It consists of a microcomputer, input, output and control circuits. ECU generally has fault self-diagnosis, protection function and adaptive program. With the development of automobile automation and the complexity of ECU functions, heat dissipation has become one of the bottlenecks in the performance of ECU.

Automotive electronic control units generally need to be sealed. Because they work in high temperature environment for a long time, they put forward higher requirements for heat dissipation of ECU circuit board, so they need additional heat conduction gaskets to increase heat transmission. The choice of thermal conductive silicone gaskets is an important factor in the thermal design of ECU, which usually has the following requirements.

1) In order to complete the heat transfer between ECU devices and radiators, the thermal conductive materials are required to have appropriate thermal conductivity.

2) Heat conductive gasket fills the gap between ECU circuit and radiator, which requires high compression to ensure that there is no air residue between the gap. Therefore, under certain pressure conditions, heat conductive material is required to have low thermal resistance, without affecting heat transfer.

3) ECU, as the core of automobile control system, requires thermal conductive materials to meet the application temperature standard of automobile grade.
