Fluorosilicone compounds: core elastic materials that empower high-end fuel sealing systems

In high-end applications such as aerospace, automotive fuel systems, and chemical fluid transportation, sealing materials must withstand extreme temperature fluctuations, prolonged fuel immersion, and complex mechanical stresses. Traditional rubber materials such as nitrile rubber and neoprene often swell, harden, and degrade in extreme environments, making them unable to meet the stringent demands of modern technology. Fluorosilicone compounds, due to their excellent oil and temperature resistance and elasticity, are becoming the elastomer of choice in high-end sealing applications.



Fluorosilicone rubber compound is a high-performance rubber composite based on trifluoropropylmethylsiloxane. Fluorocarbon groups are incorporated into its molecular structure, significantly enhancing the material's resistance to fuel, solvents, and weathering. The material maintains its flexibility at temperatures as low as -60°C and also maintains stability at temperatures as high as 200°C, exhibiting elasticity retention over a wide temperature range. Its excellent resistance to compression set makes it suitable for long-term sealing, preventing leakage and media penetration.

In practical applications, fluorosilicone rubber compounds are widely used in aviation fuel seals, gasoline pump diaphragms, jet engine sealing components, and chemical transport hose linings. Their volume expansion is particularly low compared to traditional rubber in aromatic or oxygenated fuels (such as jet fuel, ethanol gasoline, and M85), ensuring long system life and reliability.

With the advancement of new energy vehicles, hydrogen power, military equipment, and advanced gas turbine technology, fluorosilicone rubber compounds are continuously being improved to achieve high strength, low volatility, and low compression residue. Customized formulations can be tailored to specific operating conditions, ensuring the stable operation of critical systems.
