1. Overview of Fluorosilicone Rubber
Fluorosilicone rubber is a special synthetic rubber with excellent comprehensive performance, which combines the excellent properties of silicone rubber and fluororubber. In terms of molecular structure, the main chain of fluorosilicone rubber is composed of alternating silicon atoms and oxygen atoms, and the side groups contain fluorine atoms. This unique structure gives it many advantages such as good heat resistance, cold resistance, and oil resistance. Fluorosilicone rubber has strong resistance to various oils such as mineral oil, animal and vegetable oil, and synthetic oil. When in contact with oil, its volume changes very little. For example, when immersed in hydraulic oil for a long time, ordinary rubber materials may swell, deform, or even crack, but fluorosilicone rubber can maintain its original shape and performance. This is because the fluorine atoms in its molecular chain can effectively prevent the penetration and swelling of oil molecules, making it difficult for oil to damage its rubber matrix.

In sealing applications, durable oil resistance is crucial. Fluorosilicone rubber can work for a long time in an oil environment without failure. In some automotive engine oil seal applications, oil seals made of fluorosilicone rubber can continue to work for several years in a high-temperature, high-pressure oil environment. Its excellent oil resistance is due to its stable chemical structure. The presence of fluorine atoms makes the chemical bonds between rubber molecular chains more stable and not easily destroyed by chemical components in the oil, thus ensuring the long-term reliability of the sealing system.

3. Application advantages in the sealing field

(1) Excellent sealing effect
Since fluorosilicone rubber has good oil resistance, it can fit tightly on various metal or non-metallic sealing surfaces. In the hydraulic system, fluorosilicone rubber sealing rings can effectively prevent the leakage of hydraulic oil and ensure the stability of system pressure. Its good elasticity and flexibility enable it to adapt to sealing parts of different shapes and sizes, and form a reliable sealing barrier even in tiny gaps.

(2) Adapt to various working conditions
In addition to oil resistance, fluorosilicone rubber can also adapt to a variety of complex working conditions. In the aerospace field, it can maintain good sealing performance in extreme environments such as high vacuum, strong radiation, high and low temperature alternation, etc. In oil extraction equipment, it can withstand the oil pressure of underground high-pressure oil layers and the erosion of corrosive oil, providing guarantee for the normal operation of the equipment. This ability to adapt to various working conditions makes fluorosilicone rubber stand out among many sealing materials and become the preferred material for many high-end and complex equipment sealing systems.
