Speaking of silicone, you may not be very familiar with it. If you look at these products in life, you will find that silicone is everywhere.
The following introduces the six major processes of silicone products:

1. Molding
Molding is the most common manufacturing process. It is mainly completed by the mold, and the shape of the mold determines the shape of the silicone product. Molded silicone products are usually made by putting solid silicone raw materials with added vulcanizers into high-temperature molds and applying pressure through a vulcanizing machine, and then solidifying them with high-temperature vulcanization. The hardness of molded silicone is usually 30°C-70°C. This manufacturing process is relatively simple and is suitable for all silicone products.

2. Injection
This process has relatively high quality requirements and is a combination of liquid silicone and plastic. Its products show good thermal stability, cold resistance, excellent electrical insulation performance, and no toxic substances when burned. Therefore, it has become an irreplaceable material in the production and design of health products, automobiles, baby products, medical products, diving products, kitchen utensils, and seals.

3. Extrusion
Extrusion molding, extruded silicone products are usually formed by extruding silicone by an extrusion machine. Generally, the shape of extruded silicone is long strips, and the tubular shape can be cut at will. The shape of the product made by the extrusion process is relatively simple, mostly in strips. Silicone tubes are widely used in the fields of medical and mechanical equipment. It can also be used as a buffer in packaging materials.

4. Calendering
Silicone rubber is kneaded and mixed with white carbon black, silicone oil, etc. to make a mixed rubber, and then calendered into a sheet. The physical and mechanical properties of the film obtained by calendering are significantly different in the longitudinal and transverse directions. This phenomenon is the calendering effect. Specifically, the longitudinal tensile strength of the film is greater than the transverse direction, the transverse elongation of the film is greater than the longitudinal direction, and the longitudinal shrinkage of the film is greater than the transverse direction.
The calendering effect is the result of the orientation of macromolecules and needle-shaped and sheet-shaped compounding agents in the rubber compound along the calendering direction during the calendering process. The size of the calendering effect is related to the composition of the rubber compound, calendering temperature, speed, speed ratio, etc. It is used for larger products, such as silicone sheets and silicone plates.

5. Infusion
Operation method of infusion mold or infusion mold: Infusion mold or infusion mold is used for relatively smooth or simple products. There is no mold line, which saves time and labor. It is to surround the product or model you want to copy with a plastic plate or glass plate, and pour the vacuumed silicone directly on the product. After the silicone is dried and formed, take out the product, and the mold is formed (Note: Infusion molds generally use softer silicone to make molds, so that demoulding is easier and will not damage the product in the silicone mold). It is a combination of solid and liquid, and is used in products such as mobile phone cases, luggage covers, etc.

6. Coating
Quick vulcanization; strong adhesion; good fluidity, easy degassing. Using platinum complex catalysis, non-toxic, no odor; excellent thermal stability and cold resistance (use temperature -60℃～200℃) after molding, it has good air permeability, heat resistance, and certain tensile strength; excellent anti-slip performance; no pollution; low hardness; strong bonding of glue.
High tear strength; high transparency; good tensile properties.
Wear-resistant, washable, high temperature resistant; high three-dimensional level, smooth, soft, flexible fabric with excellent texture, good elasticity, washable and dry-cleanable. When applied to cloth, it has anti-aging effect. For example, silicone gloves, rain boots, etc.
