Raw rubber is the abbreviation of methyl vinyl silicone rubber. It is copolymerized by dimethyl siloxane and a small amount of vinyl siloxane. The vinyl content is generally 0.04%~0.3% (molar fraction). It has a transparent appearance and excellent fluidity. It is the basic raw material for the production of compound silicone rubber. The commonly used methyl vinyl silicone rubber has a vinyl content of 0.04, 0.08, 0.16, 0.24, etc. It is produced by using materials with different vinyl contents according to the different properties of compound silicone rubber.
After adding reinforcing fillers (precipitated/fumed silica) and additives, raw rubber can be cross-linked at high temperature to form an elastomer, which can be used to manufacture various compound rubber products such as molded rubber, extruded rubber, electrical insulation rubber, flame retardant rubber, etc.
Application of raw rubber
1. Silicone rubber: basic raw material for producing compound silicone rubber;
2. Chemical industry: carrier of compound rubber vulcanizer & masterbatch;
3. Silicone masterbatch: release agent for thermoplastic elastomer;
4. Pressure-sensitive adhesive;
5. Textile auxiliaries
