Conductive additives

The composite material made of liquid silicone rubber as the insulating matrix and nano-conductive carbon black particles as the filler has excellent conductive properties. The resistivity of the composite material under different carbon black contents was obtained through experimental testing. When the mass fraction of carbon black is greater than 4%, better conductivity can be obtained. Zou Rui et al. prepared conductive silicone rubber with vinyl liquid silicone rubber as the matrix and nickel-plated graphite as the conductive filler. The study found that when the amount of nickel-plated graphite is 280 parts, the volume resistivity of the composite material can be reduced to below 0.1Ω·cm.



Thermal conductive additives

Addition liquid silicone rubber is widely used in the electronic and electrical industry due to its good thermal stability and thermal conductivity. As a heat dissipation material for electronic devices, addition liquid silicone rubber can effectively transfer heat, improve heat dissipation, and extend the service life of electronic devices. However, the thermal conductivity of addition liquid silicone rubber without thermal conductive additives is very small and cannot be produced industrially. Commonly used thermal conductive additives include Ag, Cu, Ca, Al2O3, AlN, BN, etc. The type, content, particle distribution and surface modification of thermal conductive additives can affect the thermal conductivity of liquid silicone rubber.

Special functional additives

In addition to the above additives for addition-type liquid silicone rubber, researchers have prepared special functional additives to give addition-type liquid silicone rubber special properties. In order to solve the problem that algae microorganisms are easy to grow on the surface of silicone rubber materials, resulting in reduced hydrophobicity of the material surface, three kinds of plant essential oils, cinnamon oil, thyme oil and oregano oil, were added to addition-type liquid silicone rubber. The study found that the addition of three kinds of plant essential oils can improve the anti-algae performance of addition-type liquid silicone rubber.
