Unlike backing materials, the key problem with silicone rubber materials is thermal oxidation and high-temperature decomposition, which leads to a decrease in the strength of the silicone rubber material.

Liquid influence
In the case of oil, the performance of silicone rubber cannot achieve the specified oil resistance effect of rubber. If silicone rubber is used normally in water for a long time, it can be used for more than five to ten years if it is in a static state without any impact. However, in a moving state, if silicone rubber gaskets are subjected to oil or water stress, the density of water is definitely lower than that of silicone. Therefore, during the movement, the strength of silicone molecular chains will be reduced by water or oil under stress. Therefore, it is not recommended to use it in liquid state in a moving state.


The impact of materials and finished products
The quality of materials is the main influence. Due to the different raw material formulas and characteristics of different silicone product manufacturers, there may be differences in the use of silicone gaskets made of different materials in the same place. Therefore, material selection, performance, and testing certification are still important. The quality issue of finished products is certainly important. For the aging problem of silicone products, controlling the time and temperature during the product processing can control the actual softness and brittleness hardness of the product. After the difference in hardness and softness, the aging life of silicone rubber gaskets under stress is likely to be accelerated.
