Routine mixing solid organosilicon gel has two kinds of moulding methods, one is calendering moulding, the other is extrusion moulding, all of which need to pass through high temperature, and can be formed only after adding vulcanizing agent. Here we will not make more analysis on moulding methods. So why do we often call silica gel products bis-disulfide silica gel products and platinum silica gel products? In fact, this is the distinction made by adding different vulcanizing agents to the raw materials of silica gel. The products of double disulfide silica gel are generally added to the products of double disulfide, while the products of platinum silica gel, as its name implies, are formed by adding platinum vulcanizing agents.

Platinum vulcanizer

Perkin vulcanized silicone rubber:

Ordinary disoditetrasilica gel:

1. Silicone rubber raw materials commonly used in precipitation process for making ordinary products

2. Using ordinary translucent silicone collagen material and traditional vulcanization mixing, the material properties are ordinary.

3. The general performance of the product has environmental conflict, and the environment of light, oxygen, heat and so on.

4. Long-term use will cause yellowing and deformation in various environments. It does not resist yellow, it smells good.

5. Products are mainly used in industry, construction, electronics and other fields, and their properties will gradually aging in the long-term use.

1. Transparency

Generally, platinum silica gel products will use gas-phase silica gel with better transparency or especially high transparency to make the undercoat, and the transparency of the products is very good; and the products of double-disulfide silica gel products are mostly made of silica gel as raw material, and the products are translucent.

2. Odor

Silica gel products vulcanized by platinum are basically odorless, odorless and non-toxic, reaching the European Food Grade; while silica gel products vulcanized by bis-disulfide will retain a very stimulating odor, which will exist after long exposure and volatilization, and it is easy to distinguish the odor difference between them.

3. Storage to see surface volatilization

Generally speaking, the silica gel products obtained by platinum vulcanization will not form frosting phenomenon on the surface after storage for a period of time; but the frosting of double disulfide silica gel products will be quite serious, of course, some manufacturers will add secondary vulcanization according to the requirements of customers before production, in order to reduce the occurrence of later frosting, it can be said that if there is a large amount of frosting on the surface after storage for a period of time. The frost's silica gel products must be ordinary silica gel products with double disulfide.
