Classification of Silicone Rubber Products
Silicone rubber products are classified based on their vulcanization mechanisms, primarily into two categories: thermally vulcanized and room temperature vulcanized. Thermally vulcanized silicone rubber is primarily used for manufacturing various silicone rubber products, such as seals and pipes. Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, on the other hand, is primarily used as adhesives, potting materials, or molds. Additionally, silicone rubber can be classified based on polymerization degree and packaging forms to meet the needs of different fields.
Modification Research of Silicone Rubber Products
To further enhance the performance of silicone rubber, researchers have conducted extensive modification studies. By introducing different organic groups and inorganic fillers, the resistance to high and low temperatures, oil, and aging of silicone rubber can be improved. Additionally, composite materials with new properties can be obtained by copolymerizing or blending silicone rubber with other polymers. These modification studies provide broader application prospects for silicone rubber products.
