1、 Methyl silicone rubber
Dimethylsilicone rubber is one of the earliest commercially produced silicone rubbers, which can maintain good elasticity in the range of -60 to 200 ℃, has good aging resistance, excellent electrical insulation performance, and has characteristics such as moisture resistance, shock resistance, and physiological inertness.

Dimethylsilicone rubber is mainly used for strong coating and can also be made into various extrusion and rolling products for industries such as electromechanical, aviation, automotive, and medical. However, due to the low vulcanization activity of dimethyl silicone rubber, it is difficult to vulcanize when used to manufacture thick products. The inner layer is prone to foaming and has a large permanent deformation under high temperature compression. Therefore, it has been replaced by methyl vinyl silicone rubber.

2、 Methylvinyl silicone rubber
Due to the introduction of a small amount of ethylene group into the macromolecular structure of silicone rubber, the vulcanization processing performance of silicone rubber can be greatly improved. Therefore, most of the silicone rubber currently used contains ethylene groups. Methylvinyl silicone rubber is the most commonly used type of silicone rubber and currently dominates the production of silicone rubber both domestically and internationally. Due to the introduction of partially unsaturated vinyl groups on the side chains, its processing performance and physical and mechanical properties are superior to those of two based silicone rubber. In addition to the general characteristics of dimethyl silicone rubber, it also has a wide temperature range of use and can maintain good elasticity in the range of 60 to 260 ℃. It is easier to vulcanize than dimethyl silicone rubber, has smaller compression permanent deformation, good solvent expansion resistance, high pressure steam stability, and excellent cold resistance. Moreover, due to the use of low activity peroxides for vulcanization, it reduces the generation of bubbles and the weakness of poor rubber stability during vulcanization. Therefore, methyl vinyl silicone rubber can generally be used to make products with larger thickness. Methylvinyl silicone rubber is the most widely used variety in silicone rubber. In recent years, various high-performance and special purpose silicone rubbers have emerged, mostly based on vinyl silicone rubber, such as high-strength silicone rubber, low compression permanent deformation silicone rubber, non post vulcanized silicone rubber, heat-resistant conductive silicone rubber, and medical silicone rubber. Methylvinyl silicone rubber is widely used in the aviation industry as a gasket, sealing material, and protective layer for fragile and shock-absorbing components; In the electrical industry, it can be used as advanced insulation materials for electronic components, dynamic sealing rings for high-temperature potentiometers, and sealing rings for underground long-distance communication equipment; In medicine, due to its low physiological response to the human body and non toxicity, methyl vinyl silicone rubber is used for surgical plastic surgery, artificial heart valves, blood vessels, etc.
