It is a provincial key university jointly established by the central and local governments. It was selected into the list of national "double first-class" construction universities in 2017. Formerly known as the Department of forestry of Central University (founded in 1902) and the Department of forestry of Jinling University (founded in 1910), Nanjing Forestry College, which was jointly established in 1952, was one of the only three higher forestry institutions in China at that time. In 1955, the Department of forestry of Huazhong Agricultural College (Wuhan University, Nanchang University and Hubei Agricultural College) was incorporated, renamed Nanjing Institute of forest industry in 1972, resumed its name in 1983, and renamed Nanjing Forestry University in 1985..
[introduction to art and Design Institute] the art and design major of Nanjing Forestry University is the earliest art and design major established in forestry colleges and universities in China. In 1995, the major of environmental art and design was established in our university, which started the art and design education in forestry colleges and universities in China. In 1999, the University established its undergraduate program, and in 2002, it obtained the right to confer the master's degree in design art. In 2003, the major of art and design was designated as the characteristic major of colleges and universities by Jiangsu Provincial Department of education. At present, the college has six small majors, namely:

[introduction to school of home and industrial design] the school of home and industrial design (formerly: School of furniture and industrial design) of Nanjing Forestry University was founded in September 2008. Now it has five departments and an experimental center, which are furniture design, furniture and wood products engineering, industrial design, design technology, information and interaction technology. The college has two doctoral programs, namely, Jiangsu Key Discipline "furniture design and Engineering" (subordinate to national first-class discipline "forestry engineering"), and national key discipline "wood science and Technology (furniture and wood product technology)". Application process of postgraduate entrance examination
From Oct. 10 to Oct. 30, register and pay the fee on the website;
Confirm on site from November 8 to 10;
From December 14 to 23, download and print the examination permit on the research and recruitment website;
Take part in the preliminary examination from the 21st to the 22nd of 412;
In the middle of February 20, the first examination results were inquired;
The score line will be published from June to April, and the second round of examination will be arranged.
