The researchers of Beijing Forestry University used borate to cross-linked soybean protein or soybean polysaccharide, and then reinforced with hyperbranched polyester to prepare environmental friendly adhesive with flame retardant and antibacterial properties, which has very excellent mechanical strength for wood adhesive. It is understood that the cost of raw materials is not high, environmental protection and renewable. Because borate itself has fire-retardant and antibacterial properties, the prepared adhesive has similar properties.
