You must know the silicone replica process when making a prototype

Hits: 184 img

Silicone replica refers to the use of 3D printing or CNC processing to produce a prototype of a product. The silicone mold is manufactured in a vacuum state and poured using PU transparent PU, POM like, ABS and other materials in the vacuum state, in order to replicate the same replica as the original.

Small batch production: A set of silicone molds can produce 10-20 sets of products, with high production efficiency, low cost of small batch production, and fast production cycle.

Material diversity: Silicone mold products have materials such as ABS, PP like, PC like, PMMA (transparent parts), and rubber like. It can meet the performance requirements of various products.

Integral molding: Conventional injection molded products made of silicone molds can be integrally molded with good overall strength. They can be used directly for whole vehicles, various performance tests, and reliability tests when making samples.

Can be pre embedded, secondary pouring: The silicone mold process can be pre embedded, secondary pouring (such as air door sealing, pre embedded metal inserts, etc.).

The replica prototype is made by first using SLA laser rapid prototyping or CNC numerical control machining, and then using silicone inverted mold to make the mold, leaving a good water outlet and exhaust hole. After the silicone has solidified and formed, take out the prototype inside, and the silicone mold can start vacuum pouring the required hand board model.
